Reward Increased To Find Shooter In Teacher's Death
(CBS) -- The shooting of a well-loved and highly respected teacher is prompting friends and family to take action.
The reward for information in the murder of Betty Howard increased Monday – so did the anger over her death.
Anti-violence activist Andrew Holmes joined Howard's relatives to reveal the reward for her killer has jumped from $2,000 to $7,000.
Howard, 58, a special education teacher at Brooks College Prep in the Roseland neighborhood, was killed by gunfire last week inside the Chatham real-estate office where she worked at her second job. It was a classic drive-by, intended to kill someone else.
The family is grateful to those who have contributed to the reward with caring hearts.
