Rev. Jackson: Culture Within Chicago Police Department Must Change
(CBS) -- The death of Laquan McDonald and other police-involved shootings took center stage Saturday at Rainbow/PUSH.
The Rev. Jesse Jackson said he wants any additional dash-cam or security camera video of police-involved shootings released, a White House conference on urban violence and more.
"Stop shooting people in the back," he said. "Those police officers who falsify information (on such incidents) in their reports must be punished."
Jackson said merely hiring a new police superintendent won't be enough. He said the culture within the Chicago Police Department must change, and he is promising a massive voter registration drive in advance of the March primary election.
