Report: Cowboys Could Look At Signing Urlacher
(CBS) After an ugly parting with the Bears following the 2012 season, legendary linebacker Brian Urlacher has been out of football for a year.
But could he be interested in making a comeback? If so, opportunity may await.
After recently losing starting middle linebacker Sean Lee to a torn ACL that's expected to keep him out for the entire 2014 season, the Cowboys are considering Urlacher among the possibilities to sign for the 2014 season, according to a report from ESPN's Ed Werder. There's already one connection for Urlacher in Dallas, as former Bears defensive coordinator Rod Marinelli now holds the same post with the Cowboys.
Dallas is also interested in Jonathan Vilman, according to Werder.
It's important to note that Werder only reported interest on the Cowboys' end and that the 36-year-old Urlacher hasn't made any indication if he'd like to return to the game. He spent last season working as an analyst for Fox Sports.
Urlacher was an eight-time Pro Bowler in 13 seasons with the Bears.
