Bears CB Tim Jennings Arrested On DUI Charge

(CBS) The off-the-field drama has continued into the offseason for the Bears.

Starting cornerback Tim Jennings has been arrested in Gwinnett County in Georgia on charges of DUI, reckless driving and speeding, according to records on gwinnettcountysherriff.com.

Bond has been set at a total of $2,711 for the three charges, according to Gwinnett County online records. It lists 12:44 p.m. Wednesday as the admission date for the arrest.

Jennings was driving 99 mph in a 65-mph zone, and after the traffic stop, the officer "noticed a strong odor of alcoholic beverages," according to a Gwinnett County Police Department official.

Gwinnett County is located about 30 miles northeast of Atlanta. Jennings has a listed address in the Atlanta area.

Jennings has been a starter for the Bears since 2010 and started every game in 2014.

The Chicago Bears released a statement saying, "We are aware of the reports regarding Tim Jennings' arrest. We are currently gathering information to learn more about the circumstances surrounding the situation."
