Remember What Joakim Noah Thinks Of Cleveland?
(CBS) With Thursday's news that the Cavaliers and and Timberwolves have agreed in principle on a deal that will send Kevin Love to Cleveland, we figured it was a fitting time to look back on what Bulls center Joakim Noah thinks of Love's new town.
Why? Because Bulls-Cavs has a chance to become a new and premier rivalry in the NBA.
Back in 2010, the Cavs easily dispatched the Bulls in the first round of the playoffs, but not before Noah shared his feelings about the city of Cleveland. Well-traveled and exposed to different cultures over the years, Noah barbed a city in a way only few can, with a brutally honest assessment and an air of astonishment that anyone would question him.
First, he famously said, "Cleveland really sucks." Then he really went postal.
"I don't know about this place, man," Noah said in an interview with TNT back then. "I just stayed in my hotel room. Every time I look out my windows, it's pretty depressing here man. It's bad. It's bad. No -- no going out in Cleveland, man. It's all factories."
Asked later if he regretted those comments, Noah responded, "Not at all," then further enraged Cavs fans.
"You think Cleveland's cool?" Noah said. "I've never heard anybody say, 'I'm going to Cleveland on vacation.' What's so good about Cleveland?"
Take a look at the video above. It's classic Noah.
