Rauner Thrilled Obama Library, Lucas Museum Are Coming To Chicago
(CBS) -- Governor Bruce Rauner says he's doing his part to bring the Obama Library and the George Lucas Museum to Chicago, reports WBBM's Regine Schlesinger.
The governor says he had no hesitation last Friday about signing a bill that was rushed through the legislature to put the state's stamp of approval on placing the two facilities on park land. He says he's thrilled about the two coming to Chicago.
"Both the president's library...as well as the Lucas Museum are both great benefits to the people of Illinois and I think they're great economic engines," Rauner said. "They'll help drive tourism significantly and new tax generation and new jobs. So I'm a big fan, big believer."
While there's been no official announcement, sources told CBS 2 last week that Chicago would be getting the Obama Presidential Library.
