Procrastinating Shoppers Hit Stores For Last-Minute Gifts

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Plenty of shoppers were hitting the stores on Christmas Eve, looking for those last-minute gifts.

One man shopping at a big box store was loading up two snowblowers Thursday morning, looking ahead to the winter that has not yet really arrived. He expects the gifts will have to be appreciated at some point this season.

Another man – we'll call him Last Minute Larry – said he gets a rush out of last-minute power shopping.

"Even going on trips, vacations, I wait till the last minute to pack, so it's just something with me. I love the adrenaline," he said.

He was hoping to get some good bargains on gifts for kids and family members.

Other shoppers were pushing carts loaded with toys, electronics, clothes, and even beer to slip under the tree.

Many others were just picking up things like wrapping paper and food for family gatherings.
