Police Warn Of Armed Robberies On South Side

(STMW) -- Chicago Police are cautioning residents of the Grand Boulevard and Kenwood neighborhoods after four armed robberies have been reported in the last two weeks.

According to police, the robberies were reported on:
-Feb. 19 about 8:45 a.m. in the 4100 block of South Cottage Grove;
-Feb. 28 about 12:30 a.m. and again at 10 p.m. in the 4000 block of South Prairie;
-March 1 about 2:09 p.m. in the 4500 block of South Drexel

In each robbery, police said, two men approach the victim, show a handgun and demand their property.

The suspects were both described as black men between 20 and 25 years old, police said.

One stands 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-11 and weighs 150 to 180 pounds. He has a medium complexion and was wearing a black jacket, blue jeans, Timberland boots and a black ski mask, police said.

The other man stands between 6-feet to 6-foot-4, weighs between 150 and 240 pounds and has a dark complexion. He was wearing a navy blue pea coat, black pants and a black ski mask, police said.
