Police Warn Of Armed Robberies In Austin
CHICAGO (STMW) -- Police are warning of two recent armed robberies at businesses in the same block last week in the West Side Austin neighborhood.
In both incidents, the robber showed a handgun and demanded money from the register, according to a community alert from Chicago Police.
Both robberies happened in the 6000 block of West North Avenue, police said. One robbery happened about 8:35 p.m. Nov. 12, while the other happened about 8:45 p.m. Nov. 13.
The robber is described as a black man, between 25 and 30 years old, standing about 5-feet-10, wearing a black zipped-up hooded sweatshirt with a tattoo by his right eye, police said.
