Police Warn Austin Residents Of Armed Robberies

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Police are warning West Side residents of two recent armed robberies in the Austin neighborhood.

The victims agreed to meet with a female they connected with via social media, according to a community alert from Chicago Police.

Once the victims arrived at the agreed upon location they were robbed at gunpoint by two males, police said.

Both armed robberies happened in the 900 block of North Parkside, police said. The first incident occurred about 9:30 a.m. Nov. 28 and the second incident about 5 a.m. Saturday.

The suspects are described as two black males between 5-foot-8 and 5-foot-10, police said. One of the males had dreadlocks.
