Police Question Person Of Interest In Little Village Shooting

CHICAGO (STMW) -- Chicago Police were questioning a person of interest Thursday evening after a woman was shot in the Little Village neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

The woman, 18, was standing on the sidewalk with a male in the 2400 block of South Springfield Avenue about 7:35 p.m. when two males walked up and got into an argument with her companion, according to Chicago Police.

One of the two males then pulled out a gun and opened fire, police said.

The woman was shot in the right arm and chest and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where her condition was stabilized, police said.

Police said a person of interest was being questioned in connection with the shooting Thursday night.
