Police Officer Shoots Self In Leg At Bridgeview Courthouse
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A Chicago police officer accidentally shot himself in the foot Wednesday morning at a southwest suburban courthouse.
Around 9:40 a.m., an alarm malfunctioned at the Bridgeview Courthouse, resulting in a brief evacuation of the building, police said.
During the evacuation, a Chicago police officer was retrieving his firearm from a storage locker, when it went off, and a bullet struck the officer in the leg.
He was taken to a nearby hospital, but his injuries were not considered life-threatening.
