Police: Loop Convenience Store Robbed 5 Times In 1 Week

CHICAGO (STMW) -- Police are warning businesses downtown after a Loop convenience store was robbed five times in one week last month.

Three robbers have repeatedly entered the convenience store in the 0-100 block of North Wells Street to steal products, according to a community alert from Chicago Police. Each time, one has stood by the door as a lookout and told the clerk not to move or make any calls while the other two filled backpacks with food, cartons of cigarettes and bottles of liquor.

A 7-Eleven store is located in that block at 48 N. Wells St.

The robberies occurred at the following times:

• 3:37 a.m. Dec. 23;
• 2:21 a.m. Dec. 24;
• 1:32 a.m. Dec. 25;
• 2:20 a.m. Dec. 28;
• 1:35 a.m. Dec. 30.

The suspects were described only as black men between 18 and 22 years old, police said.
