A witness at the scene tells CBS 2 the Camaro was travelling as fast as 100 mph when it crossed into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with the pickup truck.
"The Camaro lost control," says motorist Mohammed Ayyad of Chicago, who witnessed the collision. "It's unbelievable to drive 80 miles, 90 miles or 100 miles (per hour) here. I wish everybody think about it."
Martin Gonzalez says that his brother, Hector, was a hard worker.
"I'm gonna miss him a lot a lot of people they know him, they're gonna miss him a lot too," he said.
The family was headed to Martin Gonzalez's house for a Fourth of July barbecue.
