Police Digging At Joliet Home For Woman Missing Since 1990
(CBS) -- The family of a former Will County sheriff's deputy who disappeared more than 26 years ago is hoping an investigation in Joliet will bring some answers.
It's the cold case of Robin Abrams, who was 28 when she disappeared in 1990.
Now state police say they are "unearthing a portion of a residential concrete basement slab" at a home in Joliet, based on new leads.
"The new location isn't actually new. It was first looked at back when my sister first disappeared," says Jody Walsh, the sister of Abrams.
"I was told that new information has come out and they are back at that location, and our whole family is praying that we get her home. Hopefully, justice will be served in her case."

Walsh says she doubts the site was searched thoroughly the first time. She says some authorities may have covered up evidence.
Abrams had been a Will County sheriff's deputy and was fired. She allegedly had had an affair with a sheriff's police auxiliary official, a married man.
Walsh believes an associate of that official was in the construction business and poured the concrete at the Joliet home where state police are now investigating.
