Police: Body Found Along Interstate 88 Is Missing Berwyn Woman
(CBS) – Aurora police have identified the body of a woman whose decomposed remains were found along Interstate 88 earlier this week.
Detectives say it is likely that of Sandra Jefferson, 54, of Berwyn, who was reported as missing on Sept. 3 after last being seen in Lombard that day.
A state road crew discovered the woman's remains and a vehicle Thursday afternoon on the north side of Interstate 88, west of Deerpath Road, in Aurora.
The woman's remains were decomposed, but there was no visible sign of trauma, Aurora police said in a news release Friday. Autopsy results were pending.
