Boy, 4, Killed; 3 Others Injured In Bolingbrook Crash

BOLINGBROOK, Ill. (CBS/STMW) -- A 4-year-old boy was killed, and three other people were injured in a suspected drunken driving crash in southwest suburban Bolingbrook.

Police say a Romeoville man was driving with three boys in the car when the single-vehicle crash happened about 2 a.m. in the southbound lanes of Interstate 55, just west of Interstate 355, Illinois State Police Sgt. Scott Angus said.

Taylor Dyer, 4, was ejected from the vehicle when it rolled over, and he died at the scene at 3:40 a.m., according to state police and the Will County Coroner's office.

Dyer's brothers, ages 2 and 7, were taken in critical condition to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, Angus said.

The driver was taken to Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove with injuries that weren't thought to be life-threatening, state police said.

Southbound lanes near the crash were closed for several hours before reopening by 6 a.m., police said.
