PNC Bank Branch Robbed In Elgin

(STMW) -- A bank was robbed Monday morning in northwest suburban Elgin.

The robbery happened at the PNC Bank branch at 28 N. Grove St. about 10 a.m., according to Elgin police.

A man made a threatening demand for money and ran away with an undisclosed amount of cash, according to police and the FBI. No one was hurt.

He is described as a black man about 35, 5-foot-11 to 6-foot-1 and 180 pounds. He was wearing a black hat, sunglasses and gray or tan fleece, authorities said.

The FBI has offered a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest of the suspect. Anyone with information should call the FBI at (312) 421-6700.
