Pipe Bursts At Trump Tower, Causing Small Flood
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Part of the Trump Tower flooded on Thursday, after a pipe burst while crews were testing the sprinkler system.
Colm O'Callaghan, managing director of the Trump International Hotel & Tower, said the pipe burst near the west entrance to the public parking garage during a routine test of the sprinkler system.
Some of the water cascaded down a stairwell to the parking garage, while some flowed into a mailroom area.
Workers were able to shut off the water supply, and maintenance crews were able to clean up the water using wet/dry vacuum cleaners.
O'Callaghan said hotel and residential services at the tower were not affected.
