CBS 2's Audrina Sinclair got to speak with Mr. Pierogi ahead of the "Wackiest Fest in the Midwest."

"A little rain is not going to stop Pierogi Fest," Mr. Pierogi said. "I'm excited for three days of fun. ... I can't believe it's finally here."

Despite the already scorching temperatures, the vendors still braved the heat as they prepared delicious food for the thousands of visitors.

"You know, it is pretty hot out here, but because this is a once-in-a-year type of thing, we're all very excited to be here," said Julia Bober, of Kasia's. "We have a good dynamic where we bounce off of each other. So I think the way we get through it is through teamwork."

Former CBS 2 Meteorologist served as the Grand Marshal in Friday's parade and of course was enjoyed some pierogis.
