Person In Custody After Carpentersville Woman Stabbed To Death

CARPENTERSVILLE, Ill. (STMW) -- A person is in custody after a woman was stabbed to death Monday night in her northwest suburban home during a domestic incident.

Police were called after the woman was found in her home in the 100 block of Lincoln in Carpentersville by a neighbor, who heard a disturbance and went to investigate a few minutes before 10 p.m., according to police.

The middle-aged woman suffered stab wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. Her name was not being released as of late Wednesday afternoon pending notification of family.

The incident is domestic-related and a person of interest is in custody, according to police.

"The public should not be alarmed," police said in a statement.
