CBS 2's Suzanne Le Mignot learns from authorities that the person who died was a middle-aged man.
There is no indication that a gas explosion contributed to the blaze, authorities say.
The DuPage County Arson Task Force is leading the investigation and the state fire marshal has appeared on the scene.
Also happening in the same area this morning about an hour before the blaze, the DuPage County Police arrested five people who were involved in 30 vehicle burglaries in the area of Route 33 and Butterfield Road.
Police say the fire that happened and the 30 burglaries are not connected.
