Four people hurt in crash in Chicago's northwest suburbs

PALATINE, Ill. (CBS)  Four people were taken to the hospital Thursday after a crash involving five cars in Palatine.

At 10:52 p.m., Palatine police responded to Rand Road between Dundee Road and Winslowe Drive from the crash.

A total of four adults were taken to hospitals from the crash. They included two men, ages 20 and 22, from a black Honda CRV, and two women, ages 53 and 59, from a GMC Tahoe.

Investigators have not said what caused the crash, but a witness said they saw someone run from the wreckage into a nearby business. That person was later arrested.

Surveillance video from that business shows a police officer pulling into the camera's frame six seconds after the crash.

CBS 2 asked the Palatine Police Department if officers had been chasing a vehicle involved in the crash. They have not commented.
