Pedestrian Struck By Metra Train In Des Plaines, Extensive Delays Persist
CHICAGO (CBS)-- A pedestrian was struck by a Metra train in Des Plaines Sunday morning.

Train No. 706 on the Union Pacific Northwest line was headed inbound toward the Ogilvie Transportation Center when the incident happened around 9:30 a.m., Metra said.

The train was halted at Lee and Miner streets following the accident. Both inbound and outbound trains across the line were also halted.
By Sunday afternoon, Metra warned of extensive delays on all inbound and outbound trains on the line.
