Pedestrian killed in crash on Bishop Ford Freeway in Chicago suburb

CHICAGO (CBS) — A fatal crash shut down southbound lanes on the Bishop Ford Freeway in suburban South Holland early Monday morning. 

According to Illinois State Police, a pedestrian was crossing 159th Street after a previous accident when they were hit and killed by a car around 2:30 a.m.

The vehicle involved in the crash stayed on the scene. 

All southbound lanes reopened around 8 a.m.
