Palestinian Supporters Hold Rally Downtown Against Israeli Bombing
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Palestinian supporters took to the streets of Chicago once again. More than 300 gathered on Michigan avenue Saturday afternoon to protest Israeli actions in Gaza.
Mina Blackburn, an American Muslim of European descent says what's happening in Gaza is genocide.
"The truth is that Palestinians are oppressed," said Blackburn. "Gaza is an open-air prison."
Israeli Deputy Consul General Alex Goldman-Shayman says that criticism shouldn't be directed at Israel.
"We want to bring quiet to our civilians and I think it is right and the duty for each government to bring peace and security for the civilians," said Goldman-Shayman.
Israel has been bombing Gaza locations to stop Hamas rocket attacks.
