Palatine Library Officials Close The Book On Bedbugs
(CBS) -- There aren't any beds there, but that hasn't stopped bedbugs from showing up at the Palatine Public Library.
WBBM's Nancy Harty reports the pests forced the closure of the main branch on Thursday.
Staffers at the main library found two dead bedbugs on a table in an isolated room Wednesday night, according to library director Anthony Auston.
He says they threw out the furniture and closed the building while pest control crews using bedbug-detecting dogs inpsect the 90,000-square-foot space.
"We think that's probably going to be the end of this," Auston says.
He notes this is the first time the library has found bedbugs and they're not aware of anyone having been bitten.
The main library was expected to reopen Friday.
