OSHA Investigates After Man Is Pulled Through Machine At Plainfield Factory
(STMW) -- The federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating after a man died early Thursday when he was pulled through an industrial machine in southwest suburban Plainfield.
Officers responded shortly after 1:30 a.m. to a call of a workplace accident at Coilplus Inc., 14023 Coil Plus Dr., according to a statement from Plainfield police.
A man, thought to be in his 50s, was pulled though an industrial machine, police said. The Will County coroner's office could not immediately provide additional information.
Police said the incident is being treated as an accidental death and the investigation is ongoing.
OSHA has opened an investigation into the fatality, spokeswoman Rhonda Burke said Thursday afternoon. She did not provide additional details.
