One Killed In Rollover On Lake Shore Drive
(STMW) -- A woman died and a man was injured in a rollover crash Thursday night in the Edgewater neighborhood on the North Side, police said.
The single-vehicle crash happened at 7:25 p.m. on Lake Shore Drive near Sheridan Road, said police News Affairs Officer Ronald Gaines, citing preliminary information.
A 33-year-old woman sitting in the passenger seat was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene, Gaines said. The Cook County medical examiner's office could not immediately confirm the fatality.
The man driving the vehicle was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in serious-to-critical condition, according to police and Fire Media Affairs.
Police said alcohol may have played a role in the crash.
