One Injured In Kenwood Hit-And-Run
(CBS) -- One person has been hurt in a hit-and-run accident in the South Side Kenwood neighborhood.
Police at the scene worked into the night to try to figure out what happened. Police know that about 6 p.m. Wednesday, a gunfight erupted involving people in two cars, outside of Kenwood High School. What happened next is unclear. One of the cars sped off and either shot someone at the corner of 49th Street and Blackstone Avenue, ran him down and kept going, or both.
Detectives were trying to determine if the victim had anything to do with those involved in the gunfight. A police squad car parked atop the spot where the victim was struck, to preserve the blood evidence in the rain. Fire Department paramedics transported the victim for treatment.
