One Dead, One Wounded In Morgan Park Shooting

CHICAGO (CBS) -- One man was killed and another was wounded Wednesday night in a shooting in the Morgan Park neighborhood.

Police said the two men were in the 11500 block of South Church Street around 8:45 p.m., when three people rode up on bicycles, fired shots, and fled the scene.

A 59-year-old man was shot in the torso, and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead.

A 41-year-old man suffered a graze wound to his ear. He also was taken to Christ Medical Center, and his condition was stabilized.

Area South detectives were investigating. No one was in custody Thursday morning.
