Ohio Gov. Kasich Meets With Illinois GOP Delegation, Never Mentions Trump
(CBS) – At the Republican National Convention in Cleveland, the host Governor, Ohio's John Kasich, dropped in on a gathering of Illinois delegates Monday afternoon.
WBBM Political Editor Craig Dellimore reports.
Kasich said he felt a lot of warm feelings toward Illinois because of the support he received from local party officials during his ill-fated presidential bid.
He made kind remarks about Illinois Republican Gov. Bruce Rauner. The first-term governor has been locked in a political battle with Democrats who control the Legislature.
But not once in his remarks did Kasich mention presumptive GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump.
A few Trump delegates and others say they were disappointed at the omission.
