NW Indiana High Schools Adopting Anti-Violence Program SAVE
(CBS) -- A new anti-violence program has popped up in some high schools in Northwest Indiana. It's called, SAVE, Students Against Violence Everywhere.
Pamela Jones, executive director of Project Outreach and Prevention, also known as POP, says they helped set up SAVE chapters in just about every school in Gary.
"The students in Gary and Northwest Indiana want to join students across the country and taking control of the violent situation and try to stop it before it starts," she says.
Jones says SAVE works to create safe schools that are secure, free of fear and conducive to learning.
SAVE is a national program with 2,200 chapters across the US.
