Nominations now open for Chicago's Christmas Tree

CHICAGO (CBS) — Nominations opened Monday for the 111th annual Chicago Christmas tree. 

Nominations for the Millennium Park tree will be accepted through October 14. 

Some of the requirements include:

  • The tree must be at least 45 feet tall.
  • The tree must be located within 50 miles of The Loop.
  • Preferably, the tree is a Norway spruce or fir tree.

How to submit a nomination 

Send an email to dcase@cityofchicago.org and include the following information: 

  • The owner(s) name, address, phone and email
  • A brief description of why the tree should be Chicago's official Christmas Tree, including any background information on the tree that makes it special
  • At least two photographs (one from afar and one up close)
