NFL Implements New Rules Changes

(CBS) The NFL has implemented an important rule that will leave defensive linemen rejoicing, making all chop blocks illegal.

During the NFL's meetings in Florida, the league's competition committee enforced this rule, preventing low blocks. These most commonly occur in run-blocking situations when an offensive lineman lunges below the waist of a defensive lineman.

The league also decided that all tackles forced by the name plate and above will be deemed horse-collar penalties.
