Mother's Day cruises are a hit on Navy Pier
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A throng of moms joined their families Sunday to celebrate Mother's Day at Navy Pier.
City Cruises' Odyssey hosted a Premier Brunch Cruise Sunday morning. The moms told us it was a perfect event.
"My beautiful daughter and granddaughter and son-in-law brought me of the cruise, and I'm having a wonderful time," one woman said.
"We had food, you know, spend time with family, did some dancing – no rain, good pictures," another said.
Another boat, City Cruises' Spirit of Chicago, also hosted a brunch cruise this Mother's Day. The Spirit of Chicago and the Odyssey also hosted Afternoon Brunch cruises and will host dinner cruises.
The events at Navy Pier for Mother's Day further included a DJ brunch at Harry Caray's Tavern, and a dining event at Lirica.
The Peninsula Chicago, 108 E. Superior St., also hosted a Mother's Day brunch Sunday – with floral fantasy décor, live music from a string quartet, and a balloon artist, a magician, and the Peninsula mascot Peter Bear.
The brunch featured delicacies such as king salmon Wellington, picking crusted prime rib, caviar, and handmade sushi.
