Naperville Police Probe $20,000 Jewelry Heist
NAPERVILLE, Ill. (STMW) -- Naperville police are continuing their investigation of a burglary earlier this month, in which as much as $20,000 worth of jewelry was stolen from a home in the west suburb's far southeast side.
Written police reports indicated the break-in occurred sometime between 6:25 p.m. and 11:59 p.m. Feb. 1 at a house on the 600 block of Arlington Avenue, just off South Naper Boulevard in the city's Heritage Knolls neighborhood.
The burglar or burglars forced their way inside the house "via the rear patio doors," police Sgt. Bill Davis said Wednesday in an email. The homeowners later told police that an assortment of jewelry--valued between $10,000 and $20,000--had been stolen, Davis said.
Davis' email did not indicate whether the owners were home at the time of the burglary. A number of homes on the far south and southwest sides of the city were burglarized last year while the owners were present and sleeping.
