Mount Prospect Man Facing Child Pornography Charge
ROLLING MEADOWS, Ill. (STMW) -- A northwest suburban man is facing a felony charge after investigators found pornographic images of children on his home computer.
Thomas Perry, 68, of Mount Prospect, is charged with one felony count of possession of child pornography, according to a statement from the Cook County State's Attorney's office. Judge Joseph Cataldo set bond at $125,000 Wednesday.
Authorities began investigating Perry after receiving a cyber-tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, according to prosecutors.
Investigators discovered that Perry was sending or receiving child pornography via his personal email account and searched his home, where they found several downloaded pictures of children performing sexual acts on his desktop computer, according to prosecutors.
Perry is next scheduled to appear in court May 15.
