Motown The Musical Leaves Chicago After Successful Run
(CBS) -- The cast and crew of Motown the Musical have packed up and left Chicago after winding up a successful run. The story from WBBM's Regine Schlesinger.
Motown played here for 16 weeks, grossing $20 million. Audiences were on their feet for standing ovations throughout the 128 performances of the musical. It tells the story of rock 'n roll legend Berry Gordy and the unique Motown sound he created with such sensations as Diana Ross, Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson.
Chicago was the first stop on Motown's national tour, ending its run here with last Saturday's performance.
