Motorists To 9-1-1: There's A Car Driving Around With A Tree In Its Grille
(CBS) -- Remember that car in west suburban Roselle -- the one driving around with the tree embedded in its grille?
Now we know what other drivers were saying about it, as it was happening.
"There's a car driving with a tree in his hood. He obviously got into an accident with this tree and he's driving around with it," one incredulous caller said late on Jan. 23 to a 9-1-1 dispatcher.
"All right," says the dispatcher.
Roselle Police pulled over the driver, a 54-year-old Schaumburg woman, who told them she had hit a tree somewhere.
She was charged with DUI and has a court appearance next month.
Roselle's police department posted dashcam video of the traffic stop on their Facebook page, and it's had nearly 1 million views. Police say the recording serves as a warning about the dangers of drinking and driving.
