Motorcyclist Critically Injured In Kennedy Expressway Crash

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A motorcyclist was critically injured in a crash that temporarily closed the inbound local lanes of the Kennedy Expressway on the Northwest Side during the Monday morning rush.

The motorcycle was speeding in the southbound lanes of I-90/94 near Montrose Avenue at 4:20 a.m. when the cyclist lost control and the bike struck a wall, according to Illinois State Police Trooper David Roman.

The 32-year-old Chicago man was thrown from the bike and taken in critical condition to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, Roman said.

Inbound traffic was diverted to the express lanes until the local lanes reopened shortly after 7:30 a.m., police said.
