Mom Gives Birth On Dan Ryan Expressway
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A mother and her newborn daughter were doing just fine Wednesday morning, after the mother gave birth on the shoulder of the Dan Ryan Expressway.
The mother and father were on their way to Northwestern Memorial Hospital when she went into labor, and they pulled over in the express lanes at 31st Street. She gave birth to a 6 lb, 8 oz. girl.
A Fire Department ambulance took mom and baby, Kylie Ann Segers, to Mercy Hospital & Medical Center, where they were in good condition. Dad followed the ambulance in the family car.
