Driver crashes into fence surrounding Midway International Airport

CHICAGO (CBS) – A driver crashed into a fence at Midway International Airport Saturday morning.

The Chicago Department of Aviation says it was a single-vehicle accident that caused damage to the sound fence located on West 55th Street. According to the Chicago Police Department, an SUV was flipped over and there was no one inside when police arrived on scene.

No injuries were reported, and the crash did not interrupt airport operations.

The CDA said repairs to the fence were already well underway. As of Saturday afternoon crews had already closed the gap and were putting the finishing touches on the fence.

It is unclear whether anyone will be charged.
