Delays expected on Metra UP-W after pedestrian hit by freight train in Elmhurst

Metra UP-W service stopped after 'pedestrian incident' involving freight train in Elmhurst

CHICAGO (CBS)-- Metra UP-W service has resumed after a man was hit by a freight train in Elmhurst Friday morning. 

According to Elmhurst police, the man died as a result of the crash. The victim's identity has not been released. 

Inbound and outbound Metra UP-W train movement has resumed near Elmhurst. Train No. 10 will be expressing from Lombard into Chicago and is running with delays, according to Metra.

Extensive delays are expected.
