Metra UP-NW Trains Delayed After Vehicle Gets Stuck On Tracks

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Multiple trains on Metra's Union Pacific Northwest Line are running behind schedule Tuesday morning after a vehicle got stuck on the tracks in northwest suburban Arlington Heights.

Trains were halted in both directions about 7 a.m. because of a vehicle stuck on the tracks near the Arlington Park station in Arlington Heights, according to a service alert from Metra. All three tracks were blocked, but Union Pacific dispatched a tow truck to remove the vehicle.

As of 9 a.m., inbound and outbound trains were operating with delays ranging from 15 to 35 minutes, Metra said.
