Metra: Man Fatally Struck By Train In Tinley Park
(CBS) -- A man was struck and killed by a Metra train during the Tuesday evening rush in southwest suburban Tinley Park.
The man, thought be in his 30s, was hit by Rock Island District outbound Train 413 at 5:25 p.m. near the Tinley Park/80th Avenue station.
He was dead at the scene, officials said.
Trains were still stopped near the collision as of 6:15 p.m.
Delays were expected to be "extensive" for inbound and outbound trains through the night, officials said.
