Metra Electric Service Back To Normal After Electrical Problems

CHICAGO (STMW) -- Normal service on the Metra Electric District's Blue Island branch will resume Thursday morning after trains were suspended Wednesday night because of electrical wire problems.

All inbound and outbound Metra Electric trains on the Blue Island branch were halted because of electrical problems near Ashland, Metra said at 9 p.m.

As of 3 a.m., the electrical problems had been corrected and service was expected to resume with normal operating schedules for Thursday's morning rush, Metra said.
