Markham Club, Scene Of Fatal Weekend Shooting, Has Violent Past: Attorney

(CBS) -- A pattern of violence -- that's how some describe a Markham nightclub that has been the center of several shootings and violent incidents over the years.

In 2013, Jacob Roudez's life changed forever – his vision gone, his brain damaged.

He was shot multiple times in the parking lot of what was Adrianna's nightclub. Today's it's called the Stadium Club.

"They just change the names but the players are still the same," says Joseph E. Roudez, father of Jacob.

In the same parking lot, a massive fight broke out early Sunday, ending with Markham police shooting and killing a man after he allegedly approached officers and refused to drop his gun.

Attorney John Elisak says he's surprised the club is still functioning.

He has two separate lawsuits against the club -- a venue he says has a pattern of violence with little to no repercussions.

"This is a very, very dangerous place," the attorney says.

The Markham City Council met Wednesday and called an emergency meeting for early next week to address hours of operation, occupancy and security at the club.

Nightclub owners did not return calls to CBS 2 seeking comment.
