Man Wounded In Shooting On Kennedy Expressway

(CBS) -- Illinois State Police are investigating a shooting Saturday morning on the Kennedy Expressway, reports WBBM's Mike Krauser.

Police say it happened at about 4:30 a.m. Saturday on the outbound Kennedy near the Edens Junction. A 22-year-old man who was a passenger in a van suffered non-life threatening injuries after being shot by someone in another car.

The driver of the van took the victim downtown to Northwestern Memorial Hospital. The van was seen there with bullet holes in the passenger side door.

Police shut down the outbound Kennedy for some time searching for shell casings.
