Man, Woman Dead In Willow Springs Murder-Suicide
WILLOW SPRINGS, Ill. (STMW) -- A man and woman were killed in a murder-suicide in southwest suburban Willow Springs Saturday morning.
Luis Zapata, 35, and Samantha Zapata, 26, were both shot to death in the 8300 block of South Archer Avenue, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office. Samantha was shot in the back and her death was ruled a homicide. Luis shot himself in the chest and his death was ruled a suicide, according to the medical examiner's office. Both lived in the same home and were pronounced dead at the scene at 9:47 a.m.
Willow Springs police did not immediately comment, and the relationship between the two was not immediately known.
